Paris, France: A City of Arts

I’m on my way to Nice and Menton on the French Riviera to attend and film the Nice Carnival and the Menton Lemon Festival and Parade. I was able to get a prime position for filming for the Menton Parade, thanks to the nice people at the Menton Tourist Office. So in my absence for the next week, I’m posting my Paris weekend trip from January.

Paris is a city of arts. In fact, it is in the top 5 cities of the world for museums and art galleries. We wondered the streets one night and admired the art in the galleries – I took videos of some of my favorites. Notice the Art Nouveau Metro Posts. They are easy to miss so be sure to make a special point of looking for them so you can admire their craftsmanship.

I read your interview Cynthia. Speaking the language and communicating is so important and it does take a while to get use to a new country with its traditions, culture… Not an easy task but I think you will get good at it. I hope the weather warms up soon (I hate it when it gets down to 60 F in LA). I saw in “Menton daily photo” that it snowed there, which is unusual.
It has been such a long and cold winter in Europe. Few more weeks and spring will be back with all its glory. Have fun in the South! (I subscribes to your other blog).

Hi, Nadege, thanks for your comments. Yes, I think the worst of winter is over, thank goodness. Learning the language has been a big challenge particularly since there are no affordable classes in Chambery and I have absolutely no time to devote to it. And since I work from home, I don’t have much interaction with French people to use the language except my husband. I’ll continue to widdle away at it though and hope someday it will sink in. I hope all is well with you. Thanks for following. Cynthia
