The Palazzo Madama which sits on the main piazza of Turin (Piazza Castello) is an interesting architectural study. The oldest part of the castle dates back to the 1400s and is quite Medieval, however, Marie Jeanne of Savoy added a front Baroque white stone palace and fascade in the 1700′s. When you go into the castle and look at it from the outside garden in the back, you can see the very distinct line between the palaces (see in the video). The Palazzo is a museum now (see the next video in a few days) but you can go to the very top of the tower and get spectacular views of the city:
