This is my final video of this series of Lyon, France. This one is of the Notre Dame de Fourviere (the big Cathedral on the hill that you can see from almost anywhere in Lyon). You can walk there but the easier way is to take the 3 minute funicular ride to the top, which you can access with a regular metro ticket. The views are fantastic and there’s even a fairly affordable restaurant next to the Cathedral, which is worth a try – for the views if for nothing else. The 19th Church receives 1.5 million visitors a year. Visiting the Basilica is free; the Museum of Religious Art is 5 euros. The website is www.fourviere.org and has an English language link.
We visit this basilica on our Tour of the French Alps. Join us next summer.
